I get a monthly report on each of our Essential Solution® clients showing their vital statistics: total traffic to the website, number of unique visitors, how many forms were submitted from the website and the number of calls to the firm generated directly from the website. These reports give me an at-a-glance gauge of how well our marketing is performing for each client. Of course, there are more statistics I could pull for a more thorough diagnosis, but this report is a bit like taking the pulse, blood pressure and temperature of each patient.
One thing that always stands out to me is how some firms will consistently have extraordinarily healthy numbers, while other firms seem content with lukewarm results. Take, for example, the call report. This report shows how many phone calls the website generated over the past month, how many of these were new callers, and the average duration of each call.
Break-Out firms report 40, 50, even more than 60 phone calls (that's averaging about three calls per DAY) directly from their websites. And about two-thirds of those are from new callers, with an average call length of about 3 minutes!
