Could you show me an audit of my SEO?
Ah, we know this question well. Attorneys are picking up on some of this digital marketing jargon, and SEO is something you know you need to get right.
Truth? We handle Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for every Essential client website. And we're really awesome at it, too. If your Essential website is not showing up on Google's page one for your key search terms, it's usually just a matter of time until it does.
So, when we get the question, "Could you show me an audit of my SEO?" we know there's usually something else going on.
If your website is at the top of Google's page one for search results, in your market, for your key search terms -- and you're still disappointed with the traffic you're getting from search, the most likely culprit is not SEO but rather click-through-rate. The problem is not that people are not finding you in their Google searches, but rather that someone else's listing is attracting their attention (away from you!).
In other words, they're passing you by to visit someone else's website.
Why might this happen?
There could be a number of reasons, but one of the most common has to do with how you manage online lawyer reviews.
Did you know that 83 percent of people check online reviews as a first step to finding a lawyer?
Did you also know that Google is now displaying star-ratings in some of their organic listings ? Or that Google is actually giving more weight to sites that have higher ratings from legitimate third-party review sites?
That's right. Online reviews impact your SEO and your click-through rate!
We recently partnered with Get Five Stars to integrate their review-management system with our E2 CRM, as an optional upgrade for our Essential clients. Don Campbell, Co-Founder and President, joined us at The Summit last month to talk about the importance of online lawyer reviews.
Here's a quick sneak-peek into his presentation, recorded live at The Summit. Watch your email inbox for announcements of this new product launch, and more information about how you can bring the power of online reviews to your digital marketing.
