Every year, Pantone®, the world-renowned authority on color, declares a “Color of the Year.” This esteemed selection influences our culture across a wide variety of industries: fashion trends, design inspiration, interior decorating, etc.
For the first time ever, Pantone® has selected not one color to represent 2016, but two! This year’s winners are Rose Quartz and Serenity.
While these soft colors probably aren’t the best choice for an estate planning or elder law attorney’s marketing strategy, they do represent solutions to a concern I commonly hear IMS clients express.
Oftentimes, our clients come to their design consultations saying that they are looking for a website that demonstrates their knowledge and authority in the industry but still conveys their compassion and approachability to potential clients.
From the Pantone® website: “Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.”
Compassion, a sense of composure, and feelings of respite in times of trouble are all feelings that estate planning attorneys want people to experience when visiting their website. The combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity is a great example of one way that colors can be combined in a design to evoke a range of feelings and emotions in a harmonious way.
